About Ted Roxbury
Mountain guide turned marketer, Ted excels at building teams and taking them to the top.
Ted studied mechanical engineering at Northeastern University before venturing west to the Last Frontier to work as an Alaskan mountain guide. When his mountain guiding duties led him to Alta, Utah, Ted lived a ski bum's dream, skiing the greatest snow on earth every single day. A natural leader with an aptitude for strategic problem solving, Ted taught himself the ins and outs of digital marketing when he decided to get a “real job.” After 13 years of working at Clearlink, he now focuses his time on two startup businesses.
Ted says he’s drawn to marketing because it requires both creative and analytical thinking. “It requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior and technology, both of which are constantly evolving,” he says. That’s particularly true when you’re responsible for marketing not just one, but over 40 different brands. And the stakes for Ted and his team are even higher because Clearlink operates on a performance-based model, only collecting payment after sales are made.
Born Theodore Roxbury, Ted grew up in rural New Jersey. His mother was a French teacher at a local private school and his father owned his own home security company. Always a tinkerer, Ted spent his childhood working on dirt bikes and fixing whatever machines he could find.
After his time in mechanical engineering at Northeastern University, Ted followed his passion for the outdoors, pursuing a degree in Outdoor Leadership and guiding for Alaska Mountain Guides. He led expeditions all over the world, pushing his clients to summit Aconcagua and Pico de Orizaba, among others. He has also conquered Denali and explored the great peaks of the Himalaya.
Ted's hobbies include traveling, photography and rock climbing. He lives in Draper, Utah with his son, Theo.
